more stuff for our lostbetakids cosplay group! this time Rose and Shauna on prospit based on another short fic by Abbie c:
Fic by Abbie here:
In the depths of space, the golden dream planet of Prospit orbits Skaia in a serene drift. Towers and cities shine brightly and beautifully, the shimmer of yellow being visible from the chequered battlefield all day and night, presumably. On Prospit’s small moon, linked to the planet by a long thick chain, there is a tower looming above all others, topped with an orb. And at the very top of this tower, inside the orb was a typical Prospitian bedroom, where one player waits for another to wake up.
Rose had been sat chin-in-hands and elbows on her knees on the stool at Shauna’s bedside for ten minutes now and she was starting to get just a little bit bored. Admiring the posters on her walls had eventually become dull and she’d loss count counting all the pokéballs patterned on her bedsheets. The room was rather bare, with not much to do except look out the window.
Shauna had promised her that she would accompany her to meet with the Prospitian royalty in an attempt to convince them not to wage war with Derse, even though they both knew that they wouldn’t listen and the Prospitian’s defeat on the battlefield was inevitable. That was just how the game is played. But there’s no harm in trying, the two girls had agreed earlier.
Finally, Shauna’s dream self began to stir. Her hand twitched, then slowly, her eyelids fluttered open. Rose smiled as she watched her sit up with a groan, her dark hair falling forward with the tired hanging of her head.
"Ugh," Shauna said groggily. "Why is waking up in dreams just as hard as waking up in my normal self?"
Rose smiled, putting her hand on her shoulder and shaking her gently in agreement, consolment and an attempt to put some life into her. “You’ll walk it off. And speaking of walking off, where have you been? We arranged to wake up and meet in the plaza fifteen minutes ago!”
Shauna grinned sheepishly. “I couldn’t get to sleep straight away. After you went offline to sleep, Abbie messaged me for needing some help barricading her front door after some imps broke it down.”
Rose stood from her stool and straightened out the creases in the tunic of her Prospit pajamas. “How’d that go?”
"After watching her try to bash them all into retreating, I just moved the sofa in front of the doorway. In hind sight, we should’ve done that first…" Shauna chuckled at the memory. "But she told me she should be alright for now."
"So, are you ready to go? The white queen and king are waiting for us." Rose stood with her arms crossed by the archway to the staircase
With a swift nod, the Witch of Time rose from her bed and was soon walking leisurely down the golden cobbled path, walking alongside the Seer of Mind and wondering how exactly things would happen when they arrived at the castle. Prospitians with their pale skin and small dark eyes passed them by, going about daily life as if not expecting anything different to happen anytime soon.

picture to go with a fic that Abbie wrote for our little beta kids cosplay group (including Rose and Shauna :D)
Fic here:
In the Land of Glow and Oceans, the vast stretch of luminous water seemed to go on for miles, lighting up the eternally night-bound world. Scattered around like freckles were small islands barely big enough for a small civilisation, with the waves of bright yellow licking at their edges. Then, suddenly, a portal appeared in the sky. Not long after it had appeared, Brittany fell from it. Down, down, down, only then she realised she didn’t consider how she would land safely on the ground. Her long Slytherin scarf flew behind her through the wind the faster she fell. From the other side of the monitor, Abbie panicked and frantically searched for a means of saving her. In the end, she was able to move Brittany’s bed just above the surface of the water and held it there to catch her fallen companion.

Unfortunately, Brittany just bounced off of the bed into the ocean below and hit the water with a splash.

She flailed for a moment to stay afloat and make sure her glasses were still in place before building up momentum to swim to a rock. She crawled onto the surface and spluttered, coughing up luminous liquid which had gone up her nose in the impact. “Ugh…” She groaned. It had too much in common with glowstick fluid, which everyone knows shouldn’t be swallowed.

A bleep came from her sylladex. Sitting up, she retrieved her laptop, thankfully unscathed from being protected in the capture card. Abbie had been ferociously sending her requests for a Skype call.

Brittany clicked ‘accept’.

“OH MY GOD BRITTANY! ARE YOU OKAY??? I though the bed would catch you but you bounced off and I was so worried!”

“I’m fine, I’m fine,” Brittany reassured Abbie, her high pitched squeak that took over her voice whenever she was scared piercing the air. She took off her glasses and tried to shake the droplets from the lenses before replacing them.“Just a little soaked in this weird glowy stuff.”

“Is it safe?”

“Well,” She frowned a little at how her skin was getting a glow to it. “I haven’t died yet and it doesn’t feel like it’s eating away at my skin or anything. I’m just glowing.”

Abbie still wasn’t convinced. “The only glowing stuff I know is radioactive or something…”

“Well if my hair starts falling out in clumps, I’ll let you know.” Brittany said, wringing some of the glowing water from her hair. “I’m gonna look around for a little while, I’ll message you if I find anything.”

“Yeah, cool. I’m going to try and see if I can figure out what all the noise from upstairs is. I hope the imps haven’t got it… Laters!” As quick as she had logged on to the chat, her status went offline and she left.

Brittany stood up, closing the laptop and clasping it under her arm. For the first time since she’d fallen from the sky, she properly took in her surroundings. The luminous ocean seemed to stretch out endlessly, with only small grey islands dotting the horizon. Closest to her was a cluster of them and, if she squinted enough, she could make out houses built on each one and bridges connecting them up as an on-sea village.

A perfect place to get started, she grinned to herself. Slipping the laptop back into her sylladex, she paced backwards before making a running leap for the stepping stones near. Thankfully, the grips on her shoes were good enough to stop her sliding backwards into the ocean again so she would stay dry on her journey to the next step in her adventure.
